Excellent tips for not getting KIDNAPPED AND CHILD MOLESTED. Also, great tips for being fucking rude to everyone you meet. Though I do love the quote “If you tell anybody about our little secret, I’ll kill your dog.”

Last year, I posted a video of Rick Dees performing “Disco Duck”, a terrible novelty song that somehow got to #1 on the Billboard charts in 1976. Well, after his success, he tried to follow it up with an ape-themed sequel called Disgorilla. Suffice to say, this song did not reach the success of the original. It is, however, kinda awesome. A really cool mashup track made by the Cuban Boys, Ricardo Autobahn and Skreen B. These are the same people behind the epic Golden Age of Video mashup from last year.

In early ’90s Ottawa Canada, Tom Green and two high school friends took over the Canadian hip hop scene with their dope beats. Awesome. I saw Tom Green perform some standup in LA last week at The Laugh Factory, and I’ve been on a Tom Green kick ever since. Enjoy a few early Tom Green gems:

Shot from a streetcar traveling down Market Street in San Francisco in 1905, before the earthquake/fire of 1906 destroyed the area. Remarkable footage of the turn of the century lifestyles.

I would try to describe this, but I can’t. Just watch. It’s worth it. Think robot chicken, but with random vintage clips from b-movies, old commercials and more.

I watched “Alone in the Wilderness” last night, and it was one of the most endearing, heartwarming and folksy documentaries I’ve ever seen. Today, I just can’t stop thinking about it. It tells the story of Dick Proenneke, a 51 year old from Iowa, who moves to the Alaska wilderness in the ’60s and builds a permanent homestead there. He lived there alone for the next 35 years, and recorded film of himself and the nature surrounding him. After his death in 2003, a filmmaker produced three films from his footage and meticulous notes.
I’m not sure if anyone else will find it as interesting or entrancing as me, but here is the first ten minutes of “Alone in the Wilderness.” If you like it, I highly encourage you to watch the rest of this film, as well as the other two films in this series:

Directed by Chuck Jones, this Warner Bros., this short is considered one of the funniest cartoons ever produced. Steven Spielberg defined it “the Citizen Kane of animated film” and “the most perfect cartoon ever made.” That might be overkill, but I certainly did enjoy watching One Froggy Evening, where Michigan J. Frog makes his historic debut. Enjoy!
