Witness in horror, fellow humans, this terrifying new prototype for a flying bat-like robot:
Not content with the hordes of land-roaming death machines already developed, you Replicant-enabling maniacs?!?! Must we forfeit too our cerulean skies to these metal machinations of malice?!?!?! Damn you! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!!!!!!!

While working this fall, I meet Nemo Gould in Oakland. He is an incredible Kinetic Sculpture, taking salvaged scrap metals to create art pieces. Check out some of his work. Here is his website: http://nemomatic.com

This video is a really beautiful look at all of the organisms on planet Earth that fall under the “jellyfish” umbrella. Life is a weird, beautiful thing.

An interesting anomoly among animals is the path of the laryngeal nerve — a long nerve which connects the brain to the voicebox. While the two organs are only inches apart, and a direct path between the two would make far more sense from a design or engineering perspective, the nerve actually goes down the entire length of the animal’s neck, loops around a blood vessel near the heart, and then runs all the way back up to the larynx (voice box). This odd path can be explained by evolution — as Richard Dawkins demonstrates in this video clip, with a dissection of a giraffe and then a discussion of how this oddity evolved.
