Awesome cover of MGMT’s top single “Kids”! (RANT: I saw MGMT live a few days ago at Coachella, and as you might know from listening to their second album, they’ve become hipster douchebags who no longer will make “singles” — aka, songs people like. So don’t expect their to be another “Kids” or “Time to Pretend” anytime soon. They didn’t even play “Kids” live, despite it being the one song everyone in the crowd wanted to hear, and the crowd BEGGING for it at the end of the set. So yeah, I no longer like MGMT. But their first album, Oracular Spectacular, was still pretty good.)

Hitler orders a DMCA takedown of the “Downfall of Hitler” videos

If you haven’t already heard, YouTube has taken down all of the Downfall of Hitler parody videos, which you’ve probably seen all over the interwebz, including here on Pie Heaven. Honestly, I’m perfectly fine with those videos being gone, because the meme jumped the shark months ago, and I’m sick of the relentless Hitler parodies… but here is one last one for old time’s sake. You see, what the German company that produced the film didn’t realize when they submitted their YouTube DMCA request was that there a zillions of other video hosting websites out there, and within a few hours, this one showed up on VIMEO. Surprise, surprise. The Internet just *loves* making obvious jokes, especially when they make big corporations look silly. (Thanks, Mark!)

Not only is this just about the cutest video ever, but it’s also has an anti-racist message and shows that children really are colorblind… “To those who still don’t get it. Tan Hong Ming is Chinese, Umi Qazrina is a native Malay. There are tensions between the two races in Malaysia. But these 2 children can put aside racial differences because they see no barriers. Barriers are what adults invent to differentiate themselves.”

China invents a train that never stops

Those diabolically clever Chinese have done it again!

“No time is wasted. The bullet train is moving all the time. If there are 30 stations between Beijing and Guangzhou , just stopping and accelerating again at each station will waste both energy and time. A mere 5 min stop per station (elderly passengers cannot be hurried) will result in a total loss of 5 min x 30 stations or 2.5 hours of train journey time!”
