Throwing people under the bus

The catch phrase “throw [someone] under the bus” has EXPLODED over the past few years due to Reality TV. It’s synonymous with “backstabbing” a trusted friend / teammate, when you yourself are under threat. Here’s a compilation of all the times the phrase was used in the latest season of The Celebrity Apprentice, but I guarantee you that you could make a similar compilation of clips from any other season of a competition-based Reality TV show from the past few years.
Even more interestingly, I’ve found a few sources that originally attribute the phrase to Cyndi Lauper, way back in 1984. Considering that Cyndi was on this season of the Celebrity Apprentice, the whole thing has come full circle!

Shagged by a Rare Parrot

While shooting for a nature documentary, Stephen Fry and zoologist Mark Carwardine came across an incredibly rare parrot on the verge of extinction. And judging by its sexual preferences, there’s a reason why. (This is a popular video I’ve seen a few times, but after coming across it again, I felt like I just had to share it here on Pie Heaven!)

Rick Dees – Disgorilla

Last year, I posted a video of Rick Dees performing “Disco Duck”, a terrible novelty song that somehow got to #1 on the Billboard charts in 1976. Well, after his success, he tried to follow it up with an ape-themed sequel called Disgorilla. Suffice to say, this song did not reach the success of the original. It is, however, kinda awesome. LittleDog Robots one step closer to taking over the world

Some geeks at USC have developed LittleDog quadriped robots which can walk over all sorts of rough terrain. Also, if I know anything about creepy robots, I’m fairly certain they will shortly become self-aware and start destroying all humans.
