Anyone who knows the basics of computer science will tell you that Bubble Sorting is one of the most efficient ways to order values in an array, whether by highest to lowest, alphabetically or any other means. If you don’t know how it works, these Hungarian dancers will show you with their traditional “Csángó” dance.

This video will only appeal to mega-geeks like me, but I found it very interesting. The creator manages to upgrade through every version of Windows, and amazingly, a lot of settings carry over from generation to generation, even 15 years of products later.
Microsoft receives a lot of flack, but with a 90% share of the operating system market, they have a responsibility (more than any other company) to provide backwards compatibility and upgradability for their products. This is a pretty amazing testament to their software — you can upgrade from their original Windows 1.0 Operating System released in 1985, all the way up to Windows 7, on shelves today. (And for all you Mac freaks, no, you can not do this with Apple OS products. Each major version basically reinvents the wheel and you have to install fresh, backwards compatibility be damned. It’s a different philosophy for software development, but I thought it should be noted.)

Seriously, I think I have pretty much done every single one of the things in these ads. (Though I would probably do them better if AT&T’s 3G data network wasn’t so bad!)

Some kids from Quebec guess what some slightly outdated gadgets do. This will make you instantly feel old. Of a floppy disk: “this goes into an iPod.” Of a ColecoVision game: “a deck of cards.” Of an 8-track player: “Oh! I thought it was a bomb!”
