Pretty much the greatest web video of all time, Adventure Time has been picked up as a series by Cartoon Network! All I can say is….Algebraic!!! Adventure Time starts in April, and here’s the trailer for the new bizarro surrealist kids’ show:
But who can forget about the original?? I have high hopes for the series, but there is no way this will ever, ever be topped:

One of the best songs of last year (if not THE best) was Lisztomania by Phoenix. The song inspired a bunch of fun music videos of people dancing and being really, really happy…starting with a mashup of the John Hughes brat pack, and then spreading to hipsters in Brooklyn and San Francisco. I know these videos are a little bit old now, but they are all awesome and really will lift your spirits.
ALSO…The PS22 chorus did a totally tubular cover of Lisztomania which you have got to check out:

At the Oscars last night, “Logorama” won the award for best Animated Short. It was far and away the worst of the five nominees and absolutely did not deserve the award. (You probably saw Logorama when it went viral a few months ago…it was a big thing on the Internets.) Anyway, this is “The Lady and the Reaper,” my favorite in this category and much more deserving than the winner.

As Twitter passes its 10 billionth tweet milestone, here is the Twitter Criterion Collection: “We asked some of our friends to film their favorite tweets. We didn’t care how they did it. They could read it. They could act it. They could do it with puppets. Whatever they wanted. The only rules were it had to be a tweet written by someone else and it had to contain the entire tweet and nothing but the tweet.”

Mike Barzman shot this fantastic 4000 FPS slow motion video and set it to the tune of the philosophy of Stephen Hawking. Wonderful stuff.

Someone took some footage from a crazy evangelical Christian revival service (in Moselle, MS), and added some sweet techno music to it. These people are so overwhelmed by the “power of the holy spirit” that they can’t help but flail around frantically, prance like jackasses, and fall gesticulating on the floor. You know, because of the love of Jesus Christ.
Here it is without techno music. Yes, this shit is real.

“I feel like my whole life is ridiculous, really.” Yes lady, it sure is.
Update: I just discovered what the bizarre title of the video means. The plaintiff is a member of the band Teeth Mountain, and the defendant is a member of Shams and Narwhal. This makes it even more excellent.

If you’re even remotely interested in painting or art history, you’ll enjoy this video! This is by the French band Hold Your Horses for their song “70 Million,” and it features members of the band appearing in famous classic paintings, singing their tune. I’m not a huge fan of the song, but the video is a great concept. How many of the paintings / artists can you name?

Anyone who comes to Pie Heaven regularly has seen multiple “Downfall of Hitler” videos, where a famous scene from the film Der Untergang is given fake subtitles to show Hitler freaking out about the fall of HD-DVD, the iPad, Conan O’Brien, etc. (Honestly, I’ve grown pretty sick of this meme…but the Internet has kept it trucking.)
Now, for the first time that I’ve seen, someone has posted a video with the ACTUAL subtitles from the movie. I found this very interesting, since I’ve never known what Hitler was actually saying. (It’s a very powerful scene when it’s not a surreal pop culture video with the fuhrer complaining about random pop culture items.)
