It’s pretty interesting seeing where and how people fly in the world! Also, sheeeeit, that’s a lot of carbon emissions. How much of this flying is really necessary?

Those diabolically clever Chinese have done it again!
“No time is wasted. The bullet train is moving all the time. If there are 30 stations between Beijing and Guangzhou , just stopping and accelerating again at each station will waste both energy and time. A mere 5 min stop per station (elderly passengers cannot be hurried) will result in a total loss of 5 min x 30 stations or 2.5 hours of train journey time!”

Rotifers are tiny animals that survive against all the odds. He tests their survival powers by draining 90% of the water in their microscopic bodies, heats them to boiling point and freezes them in liquid nitrogen. They are also known for not having had sex for 80 million years.

Actually, to be honest, this is pretty accurate — at least for the eCommerce sphere of today’s web. I bet they would have not have predicted the rise of social networking, though.

Last week, a video of Photoshop CS5’s witchcraft-esque “Content-Aware Fill” tool went viral all over the Internet. And check this out, someone made a follow-up!
Here’s the original (REAL) video that this one is parodying… this is pretty ridiculously awesome, and you should definitely watch it if you didn’t see it before:

About a year ago, Microsoft came out with this software that take a capella vocal tracks and matches them up with “appropriate” and “fitting” instrumental back-up stock music that it automatically generates. The problem is, Songsmith usually gets the songs hilariously wrong, and just loves to bend genres. It’s like a new form of absurdist art.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy this conga version of Queen’s hard rocking hit, “We Will Rock You.”

I want this pool table to display the pool game currently in play. That way, I’d be playing a game of pool on top of people playing a game of pool.

Mike Barzman shot this fantastic 4000 FPS slow motion video and set it to the tune of the philosophy of Stephen Hawking. Wonderful stuff.
