Very interesting speculation on the future of human development, and on the nature of civilizations in our universe. Read the Wikipedia article on the Kardashev scale for more information on this topic.

The New York Times did a psychological experiment where they videotaped children playing violent videogames to see their facial reactions. The results are downright creepy. One of the most surreal videos I’ve ever seen.

Do you know how money is created? I mean, really know? I thought I did, then I watched Paul Grignon’s 47-minute animated presentation of “Money as Debt.” It tells in very simple and effective graphic terms what money is and how it is being created…and also how society is kinda fucked. This was a really interesting and eye-opening piece.

In case you didn’t know, I’ve been running a QBasic programming website since I was 13 years old, called Pete’s QBasic Site. It’s a really nerdy hobby, but my site is the biggest QB site on the Internet, still has an active community, and I just can’t give it up!
But enough about me. One of my cohorts, Jack Thomson of The QBasic Station made a music video about QB programming. It’s super geeky, but absolutely I love it:
