A few weeks ago, the web comic Axe Cop blew up on the Internet…and now it is video form! This comic is written by a 5 year old and illustrated by his 29 year old brother, and it’s pretty much the greatest thing ever. I’m so pumped that they are now turning them into video versions! Kids this young don’t know anything about story archs or genre conventions, so it’s basically everything that this 5 year old thinks is cool, back-to-back-to-back in action packed axe-filled adventures. Yes, please.
Also, check out the trailer for a (possibly) upcoming movie:
And here’s a video on the Axe Cop Writing process, where you can meet the 5 year old genius behind it all, Ethan:

EveryDay Looper is a sweet iPhone app that lets you record multiple tracks and loop them on the fly. Here’s an awesome performance by some French dude using the app.

OK Go does it again! This time, they set up one of the most extravagant Rube Goldberg devices in history, which you have to see to believe.
This is the epic follow-up to their other viral music video hits (Everyone remembers OK Go, on Treadmills…and this is actually second video for this very song — the first, marching band one was posted on YouTube a few months ago. EMI Music has inexplicably disabled embedding on both of these videos, which makes no sense; it’s as if they don’t want the videos to go viral, or for people to actually see them, and, you know, buy the album. But I digress.) Enjoy!

“For our latest mission, 30 people throw a birthday party for a random stranger in a bar. The mission was filmed with cameras hidden behind two way mirrors, and the audio comes from hidden wireless microphones (both on our agents and hidden around the bar.) Watch the video first, and then check out our behind-the-scenes report.”
Amazing prank, and one of Improv Everywhere’s best! I had heard about the original “Ted’s Birthday” years ago, and I’m glad that they redid it with cameras this time.

This is the most WTF video I have seen all week. This little girl loves Justin Bieber so so much and it’s ruining her life! This is just bizarre, and kind of makes me want to ban kids from consuming pop culture at such a young age. And the funny thing is, Justin Bieber is only slightly over 3 years old himself. Yeesh.
Don’t worry, little girl, when you meet Justin Bieber, there’s gonna be One Less Lonely Girl:

A day in New York City, if it were a miniature version of itself. This video uses a technique called tilt shifting to make the objects appear tiny. Watch it in HD for the full effect. (Thanks, Anna!)

Forget Tim Burton’s version…this adaptation of “Alice in Wonderland” was made over 100 years ago, when Walt Disney was still in his diapers. The very first film version of Alice in Wonderland was made in 1903, and only one (damaged) print of the early film remains. With a running time of just 12 minutes (8 of which survive), Alice in Wonderland was the longest film produced in England at that time. Film archivists have managed to restore the film to a watchable version for the first time in over 100 years.

This is another PSA directed by Tim Piper, the guy who made the famous Dove “Evolution” ad. Both of these ads are amazingly effective at showing how artificial yet pervasive the beauty industry is.
And here’s the famous first ad, if you haven’t seen it before (I’m sure you have):

And continuing with our creepy, robotic Asian girl theme……These Asian girls begin swaying creepily whenever the teacher turns his back. I really hope this isn’t the next Asian horror movie to hit big in America.

The latest and greatest Internet celebrity is Thomas Bruso (better known across the internet as Epic Beard Man), who became famous following the release of a video showcasing him in a fight on an Oakland public bus. This is a short documentary (in two parts) where he speaks about his background and his current day-to-day life, and we get to see him bask in the fame of his new Internet popularity. It becomes really clear that while he is violent and mentally unstable, he is also a generally well-meaning guy.
