One of the best cartoon dubs I’ve seen. Quentin Tarantino is one of the worst actors ever, but I can’t imagine this scene with any other better actor.

A young Spielberg gets snubbed by the Academy after directing his first major feature film, Jaws…really interesting footage that reaks of the ’70s.

This mocks every single movie convention imaginable, and probably has the most star-studded cast of any movie ever made. Brilliant.

I saw this in a film studies class a few years ago, and stumbled across it on YouTube again today. It’s mostly remarkable because it’s so old. “An essential piece of cinema history, the Lumière brothers’ 50-second film is an unedited shot of a locomotive pulling into a provincial French station. It’s often credited as the first movie exhibited for a paying audience; several spectators reportedly dove for cover, convinced the train would break through the screen. Even at this early date, the impact of cinema was enormous.”

In 2009, thousands of Internet users were asked to remake “Star Wars: A New Hope” into a fan film, 15 seconds at a time. Contributors were allowed to recreate scenes from Star Wars however they wanted.
Here is the Director’s Cut of the final film, the whole 2 hour feature, edited together to form a surprisingly coherent piece. Amazing. And so, so nerdy.
