The Droids were a French electronic band from the 70s that pre-dated Daft Punk…but also happen to feature two dudes in robot suits. (There’s definitely a strong similarity…) Anyway, this is a song released in 1977, inspired by the original Star Wars film…I thought it was pretty sweet.

Japanese trains are propelled by some pretty strong electromagnets…see what they do to these paperclips, through the floor.

Scott Rosenberg, author of a new book called Say Everything: How Blogging Began, What It’s Becoming, and Why It Matters investigates. The problem is the definition of “blog” is pretty blurry. I know that I started my first site that could be considered a “blog” in 1998… and the website is still live; Pete’s QBasic Site.

There’s a really cool programming contest going on to create an Artificial Intelligence bot that can play Super Mario World. The current front-runner is this guy, and he’s done incredibly well so far. The maps that are used are from the “Infinite Mario” project, so they are randomly generated to make things fair. I am definitely going to follow this project, because it’s really awesome watching Mario run by at inhumanly fast and accurate speeds.

Probably not the best way to play Mario, but still pretty neat.
