Happy Pi Day everyone! This site started on Pi Day 2008, which means…we’re four years old!
Enjoy some pie in celebration:

On March 14th, 2008, Pie Heaven launched with the mission to collect the most delicious viral videos on the web into one convenient place. Now, on Pi Day THREE years later (which is coincidentally Pi rounded to the nearest whole number), Pie Heaven is still going strong! We’ve had 3697 video posts since the site launched, which amounts to a whole lot of video goodness.
Thanks to everyone who has visited and supported Pie Heaven over the years. Celebrate today’s most irrational of holidays by baking and eating a delicious pie. (Be sure that its Circumference is exactly Pi * r squared.)
<3, Pete PS: While you're eating your Pi Day pie, be sure to watch our favorite Pi Day video of all time:

Aaron Cael of the blog TitleOfMagazine.com did a little feature on Pie Heaven today, including an interview with yours truly. You can read the interview here: Memegrabber: Interview with Pete Berg of Pie Heaven
He also made a sweet picture of me in a “PieTube” video window, with cats:
When it comes to entertainment, I am a lazy, lazy man. By the time I’m defeated enough to spend my evening watching YouTube videos of cats eating people food or Eastern European men explaining their kooky hobbies in song, I’m not in the mood to actually go and type in a search box and click on the thingy and do the, uh… sigh. Luckily, there’s Pie Heaven. Pete Berg comes through with a deft mouse hand to embed the choicest cuts into a fun little blog that works like a Cliff’s Notes to the neat little videos of the web. And for that, I could see no better tribute than to immortalize him in the web’s other vernacular: clumsy speed Photoshop.
Thanks for the kind words, Aaron!

It’s Easter time, Easter time, happy Easter to all you viral video lovers. As a special treat, I have *finally* set up a Twitter account for Pie Heaven. If you want up-to-the-minute updates when new videos are posted, be sure to subscribe. (Ya know, after you finish your easter egg hunt.)
Pie Heaven on Twitter: @pieheaven
And as a special treat, here’s David Sedaris’ amazing reflection on Easter from This American Life. It’s audio-only, but the way Sedaris describes things is 10x more visual than any video could possibly be, so close your eyes and listen:

Pie Heaven is two years old!
This site launched on Pi Day, 2008, and since then, we’ve made nearly 3000 posts and shared thousands and thousands of viral videos. Delicious! And mathematical!
In honor of this special day, some friends and I even made our own Pi Day pies:
Yum, yum, yum. I hope your Pi Day was just as tasty…and irrational…as mine!

Pie Heaven reached its 2,000th video post yesterday! That works out to 4.1597510373443983402489626556017 posts per day since the site launched, which I think is pretty awesome. Plus, that number is slightly more rational than Pi itself, so that’s always good too.
(Oh yeah, and since a lot of posts have many more than 1 video in them, the actual number of videos is probably closer to 3,000 or so. But there’s no way I’m counting.)
Thanks to all of our contributors, visitors and subscribers! See you at 3,000.

Exactly one year ago, on Pi Day 2008, Pie Heaven began its delicious existence. Since then, we’ve brought you well over 1500 videos, from this year’s biggest hit videos, to clips from its seedy underbelly. From Sexman to Jetpacks, Rick to Toby Jones, and Cooking by the Book to our #1 video of all time, Dog Running in his Sleep, Pie Heaven has wasted hours of your life with stupid YouTube videos!
I’d like to thank all of our contributors (listed in the left column), as well as everyone who visits regularly, or subscribes to our RSS feed. We’re gonna keep on digging through the tubes to bring you the best and worst video the web has to offer.
Thanks, and have an irrational Pi Day, everybody!

Yesterday, Pie Heaven reached another milestone: 1000 videos!
Sure, we slowed down for a bit when I was chillin’ in countries that don’t have good internet (um, pretty much all of Asia)…or even electricity (Nepal, ahem)…but now Pie Heaven is back to its regularly scheduled programming of cute babies, stupid pets, and people falling over and hurting themselves!
During my travels, this site kept on keeping on, thanks in no small part to some of our contributors. I’d especially like to give shout-outs to Tim Reese, Sean Brogan, Matt Portman, Jason Sheridan, Ram Calley, Jeff Picarello and Jim Cartwright for posting over the past few months (along with anyone I missed). A big piece of pie for all of you.
And also thanks to anyone who has ever used the little “Share This” button on the posts, because that’s how Pie Heaven gets most of its traffic. Keep doing it! There’s plenty of pie to go around.
Seeya around. There’s a whole lot of crap in these here tubes, and we’re here to dig through it for you!

As many of you Pie Heaven visitors know, I will be spending the next 6 months (or so) of my life HITCHHIKING AROUND THE WORLD! I left for Japan a few days ago, and I’m currently living it up in Tokyo. It’s been a blast so far! However, I don’t know how often I’ll have an internet connection, or the time to post videos while I’m away.
So no, Pie Heaven will not be shutting down. This site will still be updated, but not as regularly or as often as it has the past few months. (I just won’t be able to watch YouTube videos when I’m stowed away on a cargo ship in southeast Asia, or backpacking across the Gobe Desert.) I’ll do my best to find and post videos when I’ve got Internet, but who knows when or how reliable that will be!
All of the other contributors besides me can still post videos in my absence as well. So keep checking back here for awesome videos…because even if there aren’t as many videos posted, I can promise you that all the videos here will still be awesome!

In just over 2 months, Pie Heaven has had FIVE HUNDRED VIDEOS posted to it! Thanks to all of the contributors and the loyal visitors who keep coming back every day to see what cool and hilarious videos we’ll find online next.
Enjoy a delicious peace of pie for your efforts:

It’s been one month since this site launched, and I’d like to offer all of our visitors and contributors a delicious piece of pumpkin pie:
Pie Heaven has really taken off. In the first 30 days, we have posted 286 viral videos — close to ten videos a day — and each and every one of them is awesome. So far there have been fifteen different contributors who have posted content.
For those of you who are interested, the top five most viewed videos in the first month were:
Keep checking back here at Pie Heaven! Every day we’re serving up the freshest and most delicious videos the web has to offer — and we will be for many months to come!

Within the tangled series of tubes that is the Internet, there is a lot of crap. Almost everything out there in cyberspace is crap. Lots of crappety crap crap crap crap. Stuff so crappy that nobody in their right mind would ever waste their time to check it out.
But amidst the giant heap of stinking, rotting crap that is “teh interw3bs,” there is the occasional gem. Every so often, we’ll find an awesome video, an awesome article, or some “awsum pixx” that we just have to share. That’s what this website is all about. We sort through the crap on the Internet to find those gems — so you don’t have to. This is Pie Heaven — one delicious slice of the Internet!
Bookmark this site and be sure to check back on a regular basis. Every day, we will be posting all the coolest and funniest things we stumble across online. If it’s cool, and it’s on the Internet, you will find it here.
“Pie Heaven” name comes from our favorite deep thought by Jack Handey —
When you die, if you get a choice between going to regular heaven or pie heaven, choose pie heaven. It might be a trick, but if it’s not, mmmmmmm, boy!
Also, this site was launched on PI DAY 2008 — 3.14 in the year of our lord, 2008. It’s no coincidence that we launched “Pie Heaven” on this most irrational (and delicious) of holidays.
Bon apetit!
