Sugar Ray covers chart-topper “Day ‘N Nite” by Kid Cudi. I liked this version quite a bit…and yeah…I’ll admit it…I love Sugar Ray. At least their stuff from the late ’90s / 14:59 era.

A few months ago, I posted Playing For Change: Stand By Me, which features artists from all over the world singing different parts of the same song, which are then expertly edited together to make a beautiful international collaboration. Here is another song from this series, this time covering Bob Marley’s classic reggae song “One Love.”
Below it is a similar video — same concept, same song — but it’s not with artists around the world…it’s artists from around Los Angeles. But considering how multicultural LA is, it’s actually quite diverse.

This is a memorable scene from the phenomenal 1967 documentary Dont Look Back about Bob Dylan’s 1965 UK Tour…up-and-coming singer-songwriter Donovan meets Bob Dylan for the first time, and they have a play-off. The general consensus is that Dylan schools Donovan with “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue,” but I actually like Donovan’s song “To Sing For You” better. What do you guys think?

Researchers at the Arctic research center in Toolik Lake, Alaska perform the Thriller dance in the land of the midnight sun. The reason I’m posting this is not because it is a great dance, but because of LOOK AT THOSE FUCKING MOSQUITOS!!! HOLY CRAP!!! All of them are wrapped head to toe to keep from getting bitten. Yeesh. Am I glad I don’t have to live there.

Ever wonder what your favorite 80’s jams would sound like if they were written around the turn of the century, at the height of the ragtime piano era? Wonder no more.
The songs featured are:
Come on Eileen – Dexy’s Midnight Runners
Don’t You Want Me Baby – Human League
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN – Europe
Axel F – Harold Faltermeyer
Material Girl – Madonna
Every Breath You Take – The Police
Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey
Living on a Prayer – Bon Jovi
Never Gonna Give You Up – You’ve Been Rickrolled! ( or Ragtimerolled?)
Total Eclipse of the Heart – Bonnie Tyler

This is somewhere in Portugal. And it was definitely for the best. Nickelback sucks.
