European Free Trade Agreement Philippines

The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the Philippines have recently signed a free trade agreement that will strengthen economic ties and boost trade opportunities between the two regions.
The agreement, which was signed on 28 April 2021, aims to eliminate tariffs and other trade barriers on goods and services, including agricultural products, fish and seafood, industrial goods, processed food, and pharmaceuticals. The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia, with a population of over 100 million and a strategic location for trade with the region. Furthermore, the agreement will contribute to the diversification of the Philippine economy, which has been heavily reliant on the services sector and overseas remittances.
