When a friend with 5 DUIs passed out in his truck yet again, Tom Mabe and Jim Clark sprung into action: They converted an office into a hospital room made their friend believe he had crashed his car and was just waking up from a ten-year coma.
Definitely more effective than yet another trip to jail.

I know, I know. I’ve posted about 1000 Vince and Billy Mays infomercial mash-ups at this point….and also a million mashups using autotune. But I can’t get enough of them! This mashup is especially awesome.

And so, the epic battle of the infomercial tycoons begins. Vince of ShamWow / SlapChop fame had better watch out. Billy Mays is going to deliver the SHAMPOW!
And just because I love you, here’s a classic Billy Mays moment — the BIG CITY SLIDERS:

I saw this in a film studies class a few years ago, and stumbled across it on YouTube again today. It’s mostly remarkable because it’s so old. “An essential piece of cinema history, the Lumière brothers’ 50-second film is an unedited shot of a locomotive pulling into a provincial French station. It’s often credited as the first movie exhibited for a paying audience; several spectators reportedly dove for cover, convinced the train would break through the screen. Even at this early date, the impact of cinema was enormous.”

The greatest pitchman of all time (sorry Vince) was found dead in his home this morning. He was 50. Billy Mays was the star of one of my favorite new reality shows, Pitchmen, and a regular here on Pie Heaven. Enjoy this great pitch for Big City Sliders one last time…and check out some of the past Billy Mays videos that have appeared here in the past few months.

Another remix of a Vince the ShamWow/SlapChop guy! This one is nowhere near as good as the Rap Chop (my #1 video of 2009 so far!), but it’s still fun to watch.

“In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced an animated film about it.”
